Rejuvenate Yourself (Safely) at Island Spa and Sauna

In uncertain times like these, it’s important to prioritize your self-care and take a step back to unwind. Island Spa and Sauna in Edison, NJ is a traditional Korean spa that will freshen your mind through their various services— massages, facials, body scrubs, and treatments. They also offer an array of herbal baths in the men and women’s locker rooms. Each bath has a different temperature and provides different benefits for the body. In addition, they have a restaurant and juice bar focusing on Korean cuisine. This spa in the heart of New Jersey is unlike any other containing all the essentials to have the perfect spa day.

After almost four months of closure due to the COVID-19 virus, Island Spa and Sauna opened its doors to the public once again on Thursday, June 16th. It is still the great spa that the Central New Jersey area knows and loves, but with just a few adjustments to ensure the safety and wellness of their employees and customers. “There were some sacrifices that needed to be made in our operations, like any business,” said General Manager Jackie Lee. “But we are confident that our unique cultural identity in the area, guests can still feel at home and feel comfortable knowing that they are safe.”

When entering the facility, there will be a sanitation area at the front door where temperatures will be taken and clothes will be disinfected. Guests are required to wear masks at all times excluding the bathing areas. There will be plastic barriers in places with customer service and guest interaction such as the front desk. All staff will be equipped with the proper protective gear.

They have also added anti-viral air purifiers and hand sanitizing stations throughout the facility. There will also be a newly built outdoor dining area located near the restaurant with the addition of turf to provide comfort for barefoot guests.

All services will remain the same but with a new online feature. Once guests book their appointment online, they will be asked to fill out their medical to ease any miscommunication that may occur.

Unfortunately, saunas will be temporarily closed until further notice due to social distancing issues. Everything will be operated at about 25% capacity.

Tickets for admission are now being offered at a discounted rate and any expired admission tickets will be accepted.

Despite these troubling times, keeping their staff and customers safe has always been Island Spa and Sauna’s top priority along with providing a relaxing, safe-haven for everyone. This spa will help you forget the worries these past few months have brought and will leave you feeling fresh and ready for the future.

“We are very excited to see our guests come back to our facilities after such a long and stressful lockdown. We hope we can offer you the same relaxation and comfort as before as we move forward together,” says Lee.
