Symi Restaurant: Redefining Greek Cuisine

Bringing a taste of Greece to Northport, Long Island.

Charming in every aspect, Symi Restaurant presents a tantalizing menu, full of fresh, high-quality ingredients, served in an inviting atmosphere, and brings an authentic piece of Greece to Long Island, New York. Opening their doors at the end of May, Symi Restaurant in Long Island quickly gained popularity due to their traditional, welcoming nature and delicious meals. Open Tuesday through Sunday with seating for 250 guests and a full bar, Symi Restaurant creates an unforgettable dining experience for lunch and dinner, and also includes a private dining space that can accommodate up to 100 guests for special occasions and events.

Partners, and husband and wife, Irena Angeliades and Mike Wieczorek opened Symi to showcase the incredible flavors and dishes embedded in Greek culture. Growing up with her father running Kyma, a New York-based restaurant group, Irena learned the ins and outs of the restaurant industry and ultimately decided to open her own when she moved to Northport, Long Island and noticed a lack of authentic Greek cuisine. Wanting to share her love for her culture’s cuisine, the process of creating Symi Restaurant began with finding the perfect location and partnering with an exceptional chef.

Executive Chef George Lambracos presents a flavorful, vibrant menu that showcases the sophisticated simplicity of traditional Mediterranean cuisine, while still giving himself room to experiment with flavors other Greek chefs stay away from. Passionate about preserving the essence and flavors of Greek cuisine and wanting to share it with others, Chef George Lambracos has been impressing people with his dishes for many years in New York City, as well as in Turks and Caicos. Known for accentuating the fresh flavors Mother Nature brings and creating exceptional meals that redefine Greek cuisine, Symi Restaurant creates an authentic and exciting experience for guests.

Symi Restaurant provides their guests with top-tier ingredients in their dishes, with fresh fish flown in from the Mediterranean, as well as spices and salts straight from Greece. Using in-season, fresh produce, breads brought in from New York City, and a true love and passion for food, every bite tasted at Symi Restaurant is one to remember.

Symi Restaurant has an impressive menu with starters ranging from an expansive raw bar selection and crisp salads to Greek classics including saganaki, Mediterranean octopus, and a plethora of Greek bites. A variety of specialty dishes have been created to showcase traditional Greek fare, with a twist on the flavor with unique dishes like lamb and feta raviolis and delicious, truffle butter-seared diver scallops. With fresh fish flown in from Greece, the seafood dishes at Symi Restaurant are not one to pass up with a selection of perfectly cooked whole fishes,  the star of the show, Symi’s signature lobster pasta. From the presentation to the succulent flavors, this signature dish is a complete showstopper.

Every meal enjoyed at Symi Restaurant is one to remember with their stylish, welcoming atmosphere, making guests feel like they are dining with family every time.
